eBook Publishing FAQ
What is an eBook?
Do I have to obtain copyright for my novel before
submitting it? If you have questions about how to copyright your material, please ask us. We will help you.
Do I retain all rights on my work? |
|
Can I have the book bound for hard copy
sales?
Many of our clients have had success with their eBook and have gone on to
publish their eBooks in hard cover. Since we have the original document,
it is usually cheaper to have us format and send the document to the
publishing house than to hire a third party. We will work with you to find a
publisher and help you get your eBook published.
How do I submit my novel?
We prefer documents submitted to us in Microsoft Word format. You may submit
your work in HTML format as long as you did not use Microsoft Word to convert to
HTML.
We will also accept:
RTF (Rich Text Format)
TXT (Pure Text Format)
WPD (Word Perfect Format)
Documents submitted in formats other than Microsoft Word may require some
editing on our part in order to be formatted into an eBook. There may be an
extra charge for one of our staff to edit the document. Please contact us if you
would like to submit your document in any format not listed here.
I'm computer illiterate and I'm not sure if I have the book like you want it. How can I find out?

Will you design a cover for me?
You can select either to have us design a cover for you, choose from one of our
generic covers, or submit your own cover.
I don't know if I should have my eBook made in
executable or in PDF. What is the difference?
An executable eBook has far more options than a PDF eBook. The only thing that
your readers need to read your eBook is a Windows based PC and Microsoft
Internet Explorer. Mac users cannot open executable eBooks at this time.
Adobe PDF files can be read by all computers and most handhelds assuming that the unit has Acrobat Reader installed. Acrobat Reader is a free download and most new computers sold already have it installed. Adobe eBook is virtually the same thing as a PDF except it has been formatted to fit the smaller screens of handhelds.
There are other formats. We will be happy to explain each one.
Many clients have their eBook made in both eBook and pdf format. We discount a pdf eBook when we design an exe eBook.
Aren't there other types of eBooks?
Yes, there are several other types of eBooks.
Please contact us if you want an eBook made in a specific format.
